If you previously used a Memory Craft 9000...
 | Where are the stitches?
Some of the stitch numbers in the MC10000 are the same as the
9000, but many more have been changed. To help you find them, we
have prepared a chart. If you have Acrobat Reader installed on
your computer, left click the link to view it. To save the chart
on your computer, right click the link and choose the "Save Target
As" option. Stitch Chart Link.

 | How can I get my 9000 cards into my computer?
On the 9000, only cards number 121 and higher could be brought
into the computer for use with Customizer. If you have
Card Reader 10000, it's
easy to copy the card contents to your computer.

Embroidery Tips:
 | Although there are vast numbers of embroidery designs
available for download, the designs you want are often not
available in JEF format. There are a lot of programs
available to convert them. Here are a few of them:
 | Digitizer 10000
You can use it for so much more than format conversion,
including resizing while maintaining density. Unfortunately it's
a bit expensive. Available from Janome dealers. |
 | Buzz
Tools and Buzz Xplore
These are very popular programs with a wide following.
Moderately easy to use, and moderately priced. Available online
and from many dealers,
including us. |
 |
Dakota Sizer/Dakota AlphaSizer
These programs are available from most dealers. The Sizer
program allows designs to be resized without changing
the stitch density. The AlphaSizer version does
that, and also provides the ability to add lettering. Highly
recommended if you are not planning on getting Digitizer 10000.
Fairly easy to use, with a good tutorial. |
 | Embird
This is a popular program, with a low price. Usage is not as
easy as it could be, but there are a lot of lists devoted to it
on
Yahoo!Groups where you can get help. It has a free trial
that allows you to download and use the program before
purchasing.

 | Sweatshirts are among the most popular items to embroider, but
they can be deadly. If the excess fabric, from sleeves, etc., gets
in the wrong place at the wrong time, machine damage can occur.
Donna Morton recommends this procedure:
The best way to hoop a sweatshirt is to first turn the sweatshirt
inside out! This way sleeves, etc are easy to pin out of the way
and to keep an eye on. I have even used the Gigahoop on a
purchased sweatshirt by turning the sweatshirt inside out. When
you hoop the shirt front, the wrong side of the back of the
sweatshirt will be facing you.

For Digitizer 10000 Owners:
 | The Persistent Hoop
As released, version 1 of Digitizer has no way to remove the hoop
from the working window. This option is added in the 1.2 update, but
we also offer a download to add No Hoop as one of the hoop
options. You'll find it in the Download section. |
