page is for those who have just gotten a MC10000, and are trying to
figure out what else they need. Once you have determined the items you
will need in addition to the machine, use the navigation bar at left

Toys that every MC10000 Owner should have:
|
 |
|
If you have no computer...
 | The above items are about all you'll be able to use. Your main
source of designs will be PC Design Cards and Memory Cards, which
you'll be able to combine and save within the machine. Of course,
if you have no computer, it's very unlikely that you'll be reading
this! |
If you have a laptop (notebook) computer...
 | Although you can save designs in the built-in memory of the
machine, it's generally better to use the ATA PC card. The
built-in memory can only hold about 35 average-sized designs,
while the PC card can hold the maximum of 200. |
 | You'll be able to put the ATA PC card in the PCMCIA slot on
the side of your computer. This will allow you to put designs on
the card directly, from within the PC, or using a cable to send
them to the MC10000. |
If you have a desktop computer...
 | If your computer is close to your sewing machine (20 feet or
less), you can connect it to the sewing machine. If the supplied
cables are too short, you may be able to get extensions from a
computer store. |
 | When the computer is too far from the sewing machine for a cable
connection, designs can be taken to the machine in an ATA PC card.
To get designs in and out of the PC Card, you'll need a
PC Card reader/writer. These are also known
as Digital Film Readers. |
Good choices for all computer owners:
 | The Gigahoop allows large design layouts
(9" x 7.8") to be created in your computer. They are stitched out
in two parts, rotating the hoop 180 degrees between halves. For
ease in preparing designs, Customizer 10000 is highly recommended. |
