I used Windows Explorer to organize
the designs in the 12 folders on my ATA PC Card, giving each folder a
more descriptive name. When I put the card in my machine, all the
designs were gone, but I can still see them on my computer. What's
happening?
A version 3.0 ATA PC Card contains 12 folders, named EmbF5
through EmbF16. These names are not arbitrary, but are
essential to proper treatment of the card by the machine. When you
rename those folders and put the card in the machine, any missing
folders in the sequence are recreated, and will appear empty. All of
the folders that you renamed are invisible to the machine. To
correct this problem, move all of the designs in your renamed folders
into one of the EmbFx folders and then delete the empty renamed
folder.
To prevent this problem, do not use Windows Explorer to
rename the folders. Either rename them in the sewing machine, using
the folder key and the Name option, or rename them using the
Janome Customizer software. When you have opened the ATA PC Card for
updating (ATA Card -> Write designs, read and erase), you can
right click any folder to rename it. Do not use more than 8 characters
for the name. |
