I installed the Customizer 10000 Plus update, but when I try to use any of the programs, I get a message about MSVCRT.DLL being linked to a missing NTDLL.DLL. I don't understand any of this. What should I do?
DLLs are Dynamic Link Library files, and are heavily used by Windows and Windows-based programs. MSVCRT.DLL is a standard file, used by a majority of programs running in Windows. Unfortunately a version of this file is installed with the Customizer 10000 Plus update, and it may be newer than the one on your computer, leading to this problem. By "hiding" this later version from Windows, we can cause everything to run smoothly again. We have created a small script file to do just that, and you can download it here. Save this file to your desktop. It is a compressed zip file, and the fix file (dllfix.bat) must be extracted before you can use it. Windows XP users can simply double click the downloaded file, which will appear as a folder with a zipper on it. Other Windows versions will require an unzipping utility. After extracting the fix file, double-click it to install the fix. The process is nearly instant and will end with a Command Prompt (MS-DOS) window showing the message The extraneous DLL has been deactivated. Press the Space bar to close the window. You can then either delete the downloaded file, or save it in case you need to install the update again.
