When purchasing or downloading designs, what's the best format to choose when .jef is not available?
Some commercial formats, such as .dst and .exp, do not have any color information in them. When those are converted to .jef, usually all of the colors will be very wrong. Designs in .pcs format use screen colors, so they often do not convert colors well. The format that usually converts colors the best, and also supports hoop sizes that allow larger designs, is .pes, used on Brother and Bernina machines.
