Software for Your Memory Craft 10000

One of the leading questions that new owners have is "What software do I need?" This page will help you get started.

Software from Janome

bulletEasyTransfer is used to send designs between your computer and the MC10000. It can also delete designs that you have stored in the built-in memory or the ATA PC Card. This program is usually included with the 10000 in the Embroidery Essentials Kit.
bulletCustomizer 10000 provides 3 programs: EasyImport is used to create designs from images, or to manage designs within the MC10000. The design creation facility is suitable for a child's drawing, but is not really good enough to do something like a company logo. EasyEdit is used to arrange designs. It prints templates for use with the Clothsetter, and can do layouts as large as 3 feet by 2 1/2 feet. Rounding out the package is EasyGigahoop, which performs the same layout function for the Gigahoop. For help in getting started with Customizer 10000, you may want to consider the Customizer 10000 Workbook.
bulletDigitizer 10000 is a full-featured software tool for creating your own designs. If you are sure that you will never want to create designs yourself, then you can pass on it. However for doing the logo for the spouse's company, which seems to be a nearly universal request, this is the best tool. There is a Digitizer 10000 Workbook to help you get started with it. You can also use Digitizer to convert designs from most home formats to the JEF format used by the MC10000, and to resize designs while keeping the stitch density constant.

Software from other companies

bulletDakota Sizer and Dakota AlphaSizer are great utilities for converting designs from "foreign" formats to Janome JEF format, so they can be used in the MC10000. AlphaSizer has the added feature of being able to add lettering in many different fonts and styles. These programs also can be used to resize designs. Unlike many programs, when designs are resized with this software, the original density is maintained. Stitches are added or removed, as needed. Dakota Collectibles also offers a huge library of high quality designs.

bulletBuzz Tools offers software for design conversion and organization. Buzz Tools Plus, the original program has been very popular for many years. It has recently been supplanted by Buzz Xplore, which offers design conversion and organization using the Windows Explorer model. Click here to visit the Buzz Tools website.
